AACRL will hold its annual dinner meeting on Wednesday, April 23, at Lovoy’s Restaurant,
420 Greensprings Highway, Homewood, Alabama. In addition to a short business
meeting, Dr. Julie Todaro, ACRL President, will be the keynote speaker.
About the Speaker
AACRL is pleased to announce that Dr. Julie Todaro, ACRL President, will be the keynote
speaker at the annual AACRL dinner and business meeting scheduled to take place Wednesday,
April 23, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Lovoy’s Restaurant in Homewood (near Birmingham).
Dr. Todaro is Dean of Library Services at Austin Community College in Austin, Texas, an
institution serving 33,000 students with seven campus libraries. She is the current President of
the Association of College and Research Libraries division of the American Library Association.
Dr. Todaro has served on the C & RL News Editorial Board and various ACRL committees, as
well as President of the Texas Library Association. Dr. Todaro is also a consultant in the areas of
management and organizational development, and in twenty-first century librarianship.
Dr. Todaro has presented workshops for academic, public, special and school librarians on topics such as “Staffing Issues for the
21st Century: Managing and Working in the Libraries of Tomorrow,” “Integrating Learning with Work: Designing the 21st Century
Learning Library,” "21st Century Organizational Effectiveness,” and more.
About the Dinner
The AACRL dinner meeting will be held at Lovoy’s Restaurant,
420 Greensprings Highway, Homewood, on Wednesday,
April 23, at 6:30 p.m.

Those interested in attending the annual dinner meeting should return one
of the reservation forms linked below along with the $30 registration fee by April
4, 2008 to Susan Herring, AACRL Treasurer, Athens State University Library,
300 North Beaty Street, Athens, AL 35611. One does not have to be a member of AACRL to attend.
